"Over the years we have driven past this place and have been impressed by the number of people queuing up. Olympia had also been recommended by a friend a few years back. This week we decided to stop off and give it a try. We ordered the standard battered fish of the day with chips. The fish was supposed to be cod. The fish was as dry as a Ritz cracker! Also, the fish didn't seem like any cod I have ever had. I don't know if this was because it was so badly cooked, or if it wasn't actually cod. Even the chips were somehow anaemic, very dry and bland tasting. Our attempts to make the fish and chips more palatable by slathering in salt and vinegar couldn't rescue the food. None of us could finish off the meal as it was like eating cardboard. One thing I noticed was that there weren't many people queuing up this time; very different from what we have seen in the past. We wondered if this place is under new management? If the service wasn't friendly, I would probably give it one star."

"This restaurant had old fashioned suburban Chinese food of the type I had in the 1970s when I was a kid. I was expecting and hoping for modern Asian but not a bit of it. I won't be going back. The thing I remember most is the staff had an uncanny knack of avoiding eye contact when we wanted things like our water bottle refilled. Food was below average and atmosphere not overly appealing."
The place also offers the possibility to sit outside and eat and drink in pleasant weather.

"Hmmm. Maybe. I was spoiled. I remember the great days of Teppanyaki restaurants at Kent St in town. Very experienced and enthusiastic chefs, good food at a bargain price. Not so much here. First, the current prices are higher than shown in the menu...photos here. For example, the Nagoya set is $57. The food is good, the entertainment cooking enthusiasm are ok, the toilets are clean, the lady does not stop cleaning, pouring drinks etc. If you have children, it is a good (but not cheap) night out. Be ready for the hard sale for Mickey Mouse pancakes. But for adults? It's just a little tired, like the chefs."
