"We have changed from salisbury for a family meal. it is a very rustic village pub, with friendly service (we were served by one of the young ladies,) a roaring fire makes it very cozy, and delicious food (only a tad on the expensive side) would definitely return for a contract."

"We love the Wooden Spoon!! Visit from Salisbury regularly as it is an ideal half way meet up venue for our family. Often prefer it to many of the options in Salisbury when just us two. "Me and my husband wanted to go out for lunch and we got to the bull. We went in and there was hardly anyone in there. My husband asked if they have got a lunch time menu. Only to find out they don't do lunch. What a waste of a pub. Its in a good location and I think they would benefit with a lunchtime menu. It looked clean and tidy. They could bring in more money if they were to serve food. I can't say anything more as it was walk in and walk out."

"We had a family meal with each of us having a different choice. I had Roast Beef, Yorkshire pudding and roast potatoes on a plate that did not have room for any vegetables, a side dish with plenty of well cooked vegetables, the meat was tender and tasty and everything else was really good. We were all enjoyed our meals and the staff were friendly and attentive."

"Whilst staying at Sandy Balls we fancied fish and chips for dinner one night and searched for the local outlets. Having been warned off the one in Fordingbridge having after reading the terrible TA reviews, we decided to go out of our way and drive up to Downton to Spinnakers as it's now called. What a good decision! The fish was really good! Large and really flakey and tasty. Loads of trips and decent curry sauce. All in all would thoroughly recommend. Note: they only take cash, however they kindly took the order from my wife and prepared it while we went off to the cash point. Definitely returning when in the area again."
