"My husband and I operated a Waldoboro B&B for years. We didn't get out much. Our friends who operated a vintage diner in Gardiner had been visiting and posting about The Contented Sole for the past few summers. We tend to follow their recommendations. However,we couldn't get reservations with our limited days off until now! We were so fortunate to get the perfect table when my 94 year old Mom visited us recently. Our server was energetic and the hostess is so very accommodating and down to earth. We could NOT have asked for a better night out with our party of 5. Mom who traveled up from her assisted living campus in Florida, was treated to a table with a Maine sunset like the ones she loved when she lived here. She was amazed by the plentiful salad and the lobster roll was the best. My brother loved the blackend Brussel sprouts and prosciutto pizza. My husband devoured the tender juicy Korean BBQ Chicken like a starving cave man. My fish tacos were light and I loved the flavors with the sweet soft corn tortillas. I was happy that our server was able to help me decide between the tacos and the BBQ. The tacos were a nice light dinner and I didn't have to take anything home for later. Even my mom cleaned her plate!!!"

"Only a small village with fishing boats that rest in the harbour and warm greetings by kristin in the osier’s wharf general store and restaurant. a beautiful small place with 4 tables and a menu, that is reasonable prices and oh so delicious. I had the pastrami with dicks, crispy French pommes and a soft drink and sam got the delicious philly steak and cheese. fresh and tasty. in the environment that are clean and home with pictures on the wall that represent the local fishing vessels."

"We had our wedding here last weekend and already can’t wait to go back!! I could say 1 billion amazing things about this place from the location, to the food, to the staff, to the views, cabins, on and on! The wedding coordinator, Melissa, is phenomenal to work with from start to finish. She is clearly the most perfect match for that job and made our weekend more perfect than we could have ever imagined! Every single aspect of this venue was perfect and all of the staff were beyond wonderful. They truly made us feel like family! If you’re looking for a “local” destination wedding with THE coastal Maine vibe, this is your place!! Our guests were raving about the accommodations and unique aspect of being able to spend the whole weekend on site with just the wedding guests on property. My #1 piece of advice is GO VISIT THIS PLACE you’ll never want to leave! ?"

"The new owners are very nice. The chef they hired is great to talk to as well. We were the only ones there for the first couple of days so he came out to talk with us during breakfast. They have been working on updating the place and it shows from last year when the old owners had 1 of the buildings pretty much abandon and now is almost ready to host people. The view during sunset is just wonderful, we had a couple that were cloudy but still breathtaking. In the morning you can watch lobstermen pull there traps if your up early enough. Your far enough out of the way to get all the peace you want and still close to head into town to shop or do things."
