"I'll be honest - I didn't really want to dine here last night, and I had very low expectations - my experiences with "oriental buffet" haven't been very positive.But my wife and I really enjoyed our dinner here - "all you can eat buffet" for 10.90€ - last night.I don't eat fish, but my wife enjoyed the sushi - she's no expert in these matters, but she said it was the best she'd ever had.I went "chinese" - not the largest spread I've ever seen, but a fair range of different flavours, hot, well-cooked and quickly replenished. Some fresh fruit, jelly, or fruit cocktail to finish and all was well.It's a large place, with a lot of inside seating as well an an outside area with a great view - it was too cool (yes, in late June) to eat outside, but I presume in better weather that's possible and would be most pleasant.All the staff were very friendly, which is often not the case in places such as these, which was refreshing. And, to top it all off, as well as the "usual suspects" at the bottom of the wine tree, they had some decent quality offerings too.A great place for "different" food in Portalegre, at last - we'll be back."

"What an experience! The food was incredible. Every dish was delicious. We had the pig with honey and mustard sauce (come with tomato rice and homemade chips) and the carburized seafood. For Dessert we tried the typical conventual sweets and the Custard cream (Portuguese style). The staff was also attentive and polite. Would go back and recommend."

"We are italians but i 'm writing in english in order to help all those travelers seeking a good place to eat in portoalegre. We went to O poeiras on Sunday 11th, August 2019. We had a lunch composed of appetizers (fresh cheese, bread and olives), which in total cost 3€, Grilled tuna, 22.50€ for three portions (7.50€ each), water, coke, two coffes for a total of 30.50€ We were 3 so we basically spent 10€ each to have lunch, which is incredibily cheap. Good value for money, I do believe that part of our lunch was made of hand-made products. Talking about the place I can say that it 's cozy, comfortable, it gives you the idea of eating in the living room of a house, which I appreciated, i felt home. Our waiter (I think he could also be the owner), whose name is Alessandro was very nice with us, since se hardly speak portoghese, he managed to explain us the menu speaking italian and english He is friendly and charming. Definitely O poeiras is a very good place to have a meal!"

"It was almost exactly a year ago that we had lunch here, and that wasn't a very impressive experience. But, since our chosen restaurant for dinner was booked for an event, we thought we'd try it again. This time it was much better a...small, but different choice of food to the norm decent sized portions (we had three mains between which, on top of excellent Alentejan tomato soup was plenty) perhaps a little more expensive than some other places, but worth it for the change. A decent enough wine list and, yes, the chocolate sublime was as sublime as last time. Friendly, swift, service. If it's your desire, there's a smoking section where you can eat and smoke without leaving your seat."
