"Had the bento box. No salt on rice and asked for the sauce and got less than a teaspoon and the staff was messing around. Also the portion was half the size of a bento box. Seriously disappointed."

"Excellent service, very good Pho, terrible Lemongrass Chicken on Papaya Salad, and the best dang hot sauce I have ever had (having lived in east Asia for 8 years). Most Vietnamese joints just put out the standard Sriracha bottle, but this place grinds their own hot sauce -- makes all the difference in the world. If you like Pho, get it here and dose it with their sauce. Prices good for Pho, notsomuch for other dishes (which is ironic, as their Pho is by far their best offering). We also had their Banh mi pork and beef sandwiches (not on the menu) and were quite underwhelmed. Better to go with the Pho."

"This was my favorite meal within a 3 day visit to Victoria. It's about 15 mins away from downtown. There are a few comments on here about the food being too salty... and I can confirm that to be the case. I loved the way it tasted, but I know I have an above average salt preference. <br/ <br/ Not sure if that can be fixed by asking the waiters to add more hot water?? If I ever visit Victoria again I'll be back!"

"Only chinese restaurant that does not provides American chinese food in Victoria. Very impressive. They wrote a post about “we use zero Japanese food and Japanese are not allowed to enter this restaurant “ in mandarin last year, took it away this year, very interesting."

"We have sampled a range of menu items as we live nearby and enjoy the unusual but tasty combinations, such as the mango roll with bbq eel, or the spider roll with avocado, and the former Cowboy roll (now renamed to the Jackie roll)...with shrimp tempura topped with beef tataki. We also enjoy the sushi pizza on crispy rice. Traditional restaurant with booths or tables and sushi bar. Attentive servers and reasonable prices. It’s off the tourist track but if you have a car worth a trip."

"This Sushi Field use to serve excellent food. Their Japanese food was one of the finest in Victoria.The last several times ordering food, I and others have been extremely disappointed. For example, each time ordering prawn tempera, has been greasy and each piece is skinny with little prawn. At least when the cook put more batter on the prawn, it presentation appeared more eatable.I seldom gives comments, but the quality of food is so poor these days, I decided to write a review. It seems to me that when the owner was present or cooking, Sushi Fields food was like fine dining. So disappointed these days. One comment I will make is dinner/lunch inside Sush Field is much better."

"The food itself was just OK - way too salty, small portions, miso soup was basically plain broth and the California rolls only had a small bit of over shredded crab meat. Service was terrible, sat waiting for menus for close to 10 minutes, finally went and picked them up from the cash register - the girl there just looked at me, didn't say anything at all... Decided what we wanted within 2 minutes, again sat waiting for 10 minutes, nobody even took notice of us until I stood up. It was like our table of 3 were invisible. They were not that busy and another table that came in after us were served and eating before we were. Not once did either of the waitresses stop by our table to see if we had everything or if we wanted drinks or whatever... Lots of good Asian places to go in Victoria, I'd skip this one."
