"We've heard good things about this small-town restaurant but when we arrived there we were a bit hesistant to enter. The house was very old and looked rather shabby from the outside. We were greeted in a friendly way by the couple who runs the "Obstmühle" and were surprised to find a cosy yet small and simple dining room with a fireplace, white table linen and flowers. The chef told us immediately what he was planning to cook for us on this night - there was not a menu to choose from. We happily ate all his delicious courses, starting with four different kind of amuse-bouches, a fish course, some goose liver and a veal cutlet as main course. Everything was cooked to perfection, arranged beautifully and left us speechless with delight. We definitely did not expect this kind of high-standard cuisine in a place that is really "off the beaten track". The 13 Gault Millau points which are posted on the door - and which we only saw when leaving - are truly earned.The only downside was, in our opinion, the hefty price which we paid for this Menu Surprise. I understand that all the hard work that goes into this kind of cooking needs to be awarded, but... considering the rural ambiente, the backstreet location, the basic infrastructure (no parking, ancient toilets) we expected the price to be less than it actually was. Nevertheless, if you appreciate fine cuisine we can only recommend this restaurant."

"I have been on the Rütli before and have always been impressed by the mystic place with a wonderful lake and mountain view. From the Swiss press I learned, that since this season the restaurant is run by a new crew which has a good reputation for a modern and local kitchen. That was a good reason for me to go back last weekend and it was absolutely worth it.I had fish with fresh salad, which was perfectly prepared. Each sort of salad was freshly made and came with it's own fitting dressing. The service personal was friendly and fast.I will definitely go back to Rütli soon!"

"Das Restaurant liegt direkt am Ufer des Sees von Beckenried Richtung Treib. Am besten mit dem Schiff oder allenfalls via eine Strasse von Seelisberg erreichbar. Viele private Boote ankern hier für eine frische Fischmalzeit. Die Lage ist Traumhaft. Das Essen - ein Teller Hecht, Egli und Felchen - war solid und frisch zubereitet. Preise sind nicht billig aber bezahlbar. Die Bedienung war gut, könnte aber bei den Details noch etwas zulegen, was aber bei der Lage in Kauf genommen wurde. Sicher auch eine gute Alternative für Gäste aus dem Ausland."

"Super target to go out of the city! Only 40min from Zurich? We got there, the small boat (transfer between the land and island) was waiting for us. The restaurant is on a small island, with lots of steps, excellent view and the small lake around! Very romantic place to be. We reserved the table a week an advance. The restaurant is very small what makes it very charming, home feeling and extremely warm welcoming. The service was good, the dishes very good and excellent wine list. We really enjoyed the time with our friends! We really would love to come back soon. At the end, we decided having our dessert outside, because of the gorges summer weather."

"The dining restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere. The service was partly satisfactory. However, when I ordered pizza with my girlfriend, we wanted to share a pizza. They added 3. because we wanted to share a plate, otherwise they would have had some cutlery removed. This came across as quite unfriendly."
