"Worst experience ever, we waited over an hour for food which never came at all. All I ordered was a cup of chowder and a side Caesar salad. How hard is that to make? We complained, she asked me if we wanted her to check on it, we said yes. When I asked about it again, so was there an excuse as to why the food was so late? She didn 't offer an explanation. She said I 'll take it off your bill the food we never got). Totally terrible service, and dead spiders on the window.The couple who came in after us got served a full course meal in record time. Would not recommend this place.??"

"Disappointing experience here. Service almost non-existent right off the bat, had to constantly try to flag our server down, who mostly just stared at the floor and avoided eye contact with anyone around her. Received my fish raw in the middle. Had it taken away once I finally managed to get the server’s attention and the replacement did not arrive until 45 minutes later, and only after I flagged down the server and flat out asked if I was ever going to get any food again. My companion was done eating by then so then I had to eat alone with her watching me. The food was bland, the fish was now completely dry to presumably compensate for not cooking it thoroughly the first time, and the meal was definitely not worth the money. Did not receive any discount or any offer of compensation for the ruined meal, just a machine with a minimum suggested tip of 18% for I don’t know what. I can’t think of a single other time in my entire life that I’ve been served food that was frozen and raw in the middle at a restaurant. Only giving it two stars instead of one because my companion said her pasta with shrimp was decent."

"Went for a bite and drink after kayaking. First time to the area and it was recommended of course by the Quarterdeck Hotel where we were staying. The pub is really worn out and the floors are sticky from something being spilled on them. The entire place is run down and the bathrooms were horrible. Husband had chicken wings and I had soup of the day, beef vegetable. Both were ok, nothing great. Staff were friendly enough but the place was just awful. Will not return. There must be better options to choose from in Port Hardy."

"Toudai Sushi has a bank of large windows looking out across the (usually) rainy inlet. We tried four kinds of rolls, tempura and gyoza. The menu is extensive, inexpensive and includes a few Korean options. All of the rolls were good, including the interesting Port Hardy roll (smoked salmon, cucumber and apple). Service was friendly and efficient. Asahi beer is available as well as generic Canadian options. Recommended."
