"We ate here while we were in Progreso for lunch. Server were friendly and the restaurant was clean we sit inside with a nice breeze coming through the building. It is located right on the beach. I order some kinda of Nachos and my wife order enchiladas they were filled with boiled eggs), both plates were tasty. FYI you can't read or speak Spanish you will have a difficult time with menu."

I have said words to the same effect to Jacque Small on my visits to her restaurant. So glad someone (Tanya1111) has now made up for my not having shared that sentiment online. And, don´t overlook that Jacque now uses 100% non-fluoridated sea salt, which means you can have great Indian food when you want and not have to think about what Mexico's policy of adding fluoride to regular table salt may be doing to your health."

"We are currently staying just outside of Progreso, MX for a few months. How lucky are WE? to get to try out all these really great local restaurants! There are SO many, every street has LOADS of really great places, walk by and you can SEE all the fresh food, smell all the aromas from various cocina's.. What I have noticed, is that SO many of these little gems, are not even listed on here!!, I am working to make sure that all these local places, owned by locals, to help get the word out that these places are REALLY worth a visit, to be able to experience the true local culture through dining here, and then really understand what this place is all about. The Cordobes,appears to be somewhat of a long time local icon. It is located across from the circle, on a busy corner, right across from the taxi stand. EVERY time we go by, it is like a really cool scene, LOTS of locals dining here, and it doesn't appear "touristy " at ALL ( which I LOVE!) The building itself has SO much character, it has these beautiful high ceilings, and floor to ceiling wooden doors that open out to the streets. There is a hand wash sink for all to use before dining, and the meals are prepared in sight. The ambiance here, has such an "old" vibe to it, like you could imagine Hemmingway having coffee here, or any writer, having an ice cold Michelada, while pondering the next article, watching the busy sidewalk activity,..Their menu -abundant, LOTS to choose from covering EVERY base. The food is home made, from scratch. The guacamole, was simple, and really good, as was their homemade chili. My husband had the traditional chicken tacos (taco pollo), served on fresh steaming corn tortillas. I had the "camerones mojo de aho" (Mexican garlic shrimp), ample portions, and just really nicely cooked, -authentic in every way ;-) we will return at some point, I'm SO glad you guys put it on here after I searched and couldn't find it. THANK YOU. I will be discovering lots more little places around town while I am here, and sharing the intel with all!"

"J'y suis allé à quelques reprises et j'ai beaucoup aimé. Même s'il est situé directement dans la zone touristque, c'est un endroit agréable et la nourriture était très bonne. Nous avons opté pour une table situé sur le trottoir sous les arbres, tout à fait charmant. Le service était excellent car le serveur a été toujours très poli et courtois. La nourriture est simple mais goûteuse. De plus les prix sont très abordables. J'y retournerai encore, c'est certain."
