"Very disappointed in the restaurant. Very well received by the person outside but that's all. We ate upstairs. Very unpleasant waitress. She speaks at the other end of the restaurant to the other servers. The table was dirty, covered and glasses also because of sand) but good it cleanses before placing customers! Just sitting, we are already asked to order the aperitif and if we want wine at table!! Uh??? I know the taste. It wasn't at all the taste of vodka. I told the waiter who came back with my glass exactly the same and who certified that it was vodka. Okay, okay, I'm a waitress too, and not that was probably not what I ordered. The drinks of the meal arrived 2 min after the aperitif and the dishes just behind. No surprise. Even at home she has more taste. No herbs. No spices. Not even roasted. No interest. That's the same thing. No taste. No interest. The pin was served on a large foot of 80 cm high. There were vegetables on it and onions. My boyfriend had already removed the meat but left the vegetables on it to eat them afterwards. The waitress passed and when she saw the meatless peak she kissed everything without even a word. With all this we didn't want dessert. But two different servers brought us coffees that we never ordered. So the bill was false. Really very disappointed. It's a cruel lack of organization."

"Laura Parce (of Parce brothers fame/Domain de la Recorie) has struck out with the her partner to create the wines of Domaine Pic Joan. Their wine tasting centre is perched next to the Hotel Sol on the hill into Banylus and offers a wonderful sea view and food to partner the wines. I booked over the phone and English is not really spoken here but it was clear I couldn't book at 8pm due to pressure on the kitchen but 30 mins later was fine. On arrival you see how small this place is – 10 tables max – and the menu is also simple but local. We started with their white Banyuls which was really rather good as a chilled aperitif (might have to buy some) and we opted for their red with dinner (this was also very drinkable and clean in its finish as it was in the expression of the wine). This is a surprisingly good choice for kids as our daughter loved her veal lasagne and choclate fondant cake. We all started with some appetisers and because the explanation was in French our daughter tried the sliced octopus Boules de Picolet and Tuna salad. She said she liked the Octopus – until we told her what it was! We followed that with Escargots Catalan and the Duo of Cochon. The snails were good (much to the disgust of our daughter) and the sauce very tasty indeed the Cochon was great. A beautifully tasty Iberican ham was teamed with a French slices of thinly cooked pork. The red and white meat we colourful and it was a wonderfully light and delicious Catalan starter. A cassoulet Catalan followed which was a slab of belly pork, a confit of duck leg and a green bean cassoulet with sausage, black pudding tomatoes and veg. Again easy to eat, tasty and local. The wife had a huge Magret de Canard with potatoes that defeated her. This dish probably could have benefitted from a little more of the Banyuls sauce. Some Cheese to round of the red wine followed by coffee and a Banyuls Rouge (not as good as the White IMHO) left us with change out of 110€Summary – Look it's simple food, well done. I loved it and would happily revisit and recommend"

"Was looking for a place to eat some lunch. Ended up here, the place doesn't look like much from the outside, but when you enter it's a really nice, clean and good atmosphere. We did feel really welcome.Really good service, nice place and the food is good and cheap.If you are around, go there for lunch or similar."
