"Stopped on a family day road trip with interstate visitors ordered coffee and cakes. While coffee was brewing, as it was nice weather, took our cakes on plates to the table outside. When I went out to get the mugs, were told in no uncertain terms, YOU'RE NOT TO TAKE THOSE OUTSIDE!! Was told we can pour your cappuccinos into take away cups so you can go outside so we ultimately went back outside grabbed our cakes and moved the whole group back inside. Very rude and door was locked."

"These pizzas are PACKED with toppings! Delicious. I'm not sure what the photo is of but that is nowhere near what the pizza place looks like.It's not had a good clean since 1985 and some of the yellow tinged signage would be worth a mint to a vintage collector.Luckily the shop has no reflection on the pizza"

"This country bakery is on the right as you enter Birdwood from the direction of Adelaide. It sells coffee, pies, sandwiches and everything you'd expect in basically a big clean rustic shed with seats inside and out. Stopping for a quick lunch, my wife had a toasted sandwich and I had a toasted focaccia. Both were filling. Service was friendly, costs reasonable, and there's also a small second hand shop within the bakery."

"Staff were friendly, location is wonderful, the place is very well maintained and the menu was inviting. However, service, whist friendly was inefficient and inattentive. We sat for almost an hour after ordering food only for it to come out in dribs and drabs after a pre-emptive apology. And my meal was sufficiently overcooked and cold on arrival that I did not enjoy it as I had hoped. My companions did very much enjoy their meals when they arrived with no complaint. A tactical, Can I get anyone a coffee on the house while you wait a little longer? offer may have saved the day, but the owner/manager missed that opportunity when being proactive about letting us know about our delayed meals (we were about to ask). If we were to come back, we will probably settle for a coffee only."

"Excellent lunch, not cheap but great tastes and enough portion sizes. Wine enjoyable all capped off by the made to order weather and good friendly staff service. Only complaint that I was dedicated driver so could only enjoy one glass of Shiraz."
