"We arrived with a weeping baby and we were served immediately. we had no German and so the waiter voluntarily declares the menu to us and was really friendly. the whole menu looked really nice. we had the goat cheese and walnut toast, which was very tasty and quickly arrived. we had cappuccinos afterwards and they were very frothy without too much milk. the coffee was excellent. I can recommend this place safely."

"I wanted to come to this valley for the bicycling opportunities, which are grand. I picked the St Gotthard as a base for its obvious proximity and how it is a small family-run establishment with plenty of favorable comments. In all respects the hotel, restaurant, staff and locale fulfilled and perhaps exceeded my needs. Josef and Joanna and their staff work very hard to deliver attentive service and a stay that complements whatever it is you have come there for. Sitting out front with a refreshment alongside that ancient bridge and its river will just make your day. The town of Andermatt with groceries, services and festivities is close at hand. The room was cozy, comfortable and equipped with all modern conveniences, including wi-fi. Josef is a trained professional chef, Joanna and Trix serving tables downstairs and outside are indefegatible. The bike garage was secure and convenient. Whether you are coming off a hard bike adventure or just on a meandering roadtrip, whether you want a full meal or just a refreshment, the St Gotthard will not disappoint!"

"Je ne comprends toujours pas cette manie des hôteliers de vous dire à votre arrivée qu'il ne reste qu'une chambre. En fait, c'est une façon de vous octroyer une des plus chères, puisque après nous, pas mal de monde est arrivé dont la plupart n'avait pas réservé et ils ont trouvé facilement d'autres chambres. Et on s'est retrouvé, alors que nous n'étions qu'un seul couple, avec deux chambres continues et.... 7 lits ! Bon, côté restaurant, on commande deux salades, on a attendu près de 3/4 d'heure pour être servi. Charmant ! En fait, ce n'était pourtant que quelques morceaux de feuilles de salade et de mâches avec trois tomates cerises et trois gouttes d'huile, et côté prix on a failli faire un malaise. En dessert ? Allez ! allons-y pour la panacotta. Chez nous on paye cela 3€ environ, là... 10,50 ! Quant à la serveuse, là encore, comme souvent en Autriche, aucun effort de sa part, mais nous étions peut-être les premiers clients Français qu'elle voyait depuis 30 ans, on lui demande de l'eau, elle ne comprend pas, water, non plus, aqua, pas davantage. Là, ça devient vraiment énervant. Ils font exprès ou quoi ? Bon, on est resté là que pour un dîner et une nuit. Heureusement !"
