"Das Weingut Ottes war über Jahrzehnte hinweg eine der Adressen wo man super Riesling in herrlicher Atmosphäre verkosten konnte. Die Lage in der Nähe des Bahnhofs machte das Weingut Ottes zu einem gerne besuchten Ausflugsziel mit toller Aussicht auf den Rhein inmitten der Weinberge. Eigentlich würde alles passen, aber da die Besitzer gewechselt haben und damit auch der Sachverstand, wird aus einem renomierten Weingut mit Spitzenwein ein kümmerlicher Abklatsch. Man mag darüber streiten ob die Spanischen Spezialitäten zum Wein passen oder ob die vorher angebotene japanische Küche besser war. Fakt bleibt jedoch, dass es unter der Familie Ottes weitaus runder lief und man sich als Gast sehr wohl gefühlt hat. Dieses Gefühl vermisst man heute, es entsteht eher der Eindruck das sich die Dinge zu einem Hobby Weingut entwickelten. Ein Winzer der sein Handwerk versteht scheint der neue Besitzer nicht zu sein, eher ein Investor der ein neues Steckenpferd suchte und fand. Tradition bleibt dabei leider auf der Strecke, es bleibt abzuwarten wie die neuen Weine werden."
