"I have had lunch on the lovely terrace at Le Moustier three times now. Each time, the service was some of the best I've ever had in this area (the chef's wife brings out a carafe of water before you even ask, and then continuously replaces it before you ask, which almost NEVER happens in France in my experience!) The food is very good too. Twice I have had the lamb cooked with artichoke hearts, absolutely delicious, and once I had a steak which was perfectly cooked, but I wish I had known the chef was going to put a sauce on it, because I prefer my steak plain. The sauce was very tasty though, and the accompanying fries were perfection. The friends who have accompanied me each time to lunch raved about their dishes too, which were accompanied by au gratin potatoes that are addictive. A very good wine list rounds out the offering, although with flavourful, excellent desserts. Also worth honourable mention are the modern, clean toilets. The setting is the gorgeous Maconnais wine country, which is why I would especially recommend having lunch here before going on tastings or to appreciate the scenery."
