"Älteste Mariazeller Lebzelterei, gegründet 1860, befindet sich seither in Familienbesitz und wird traditionsbewusst und mit viel Liebe zum Handwerk geführt.Nach einer langen Waderung suchen wir ein sonniges Plätzchen, aber der Hauptplatz vor der Basilika mit den vielen bekannten Cafés und Restaurants ist übervoll. So erblicken wir eher zufällig die schöne Sonnen-Terrasse dieser netten Café-Konditorei, wo wir in Ruhe den Blick auf die Berge genießen und uns bei erfrischenden Getränken, gutem Cappuccino, heißer Schokolade und köstlichen hausgemachten Mehlspeisen aus der eigenen Konditorei-Backstube herrlich erholen. Vielleicht ist hier nicht ganz so perfekt durchgestylt und Marketing mäßig ins beste Licht gerückt wie andere Mariazeller Betriebe, aber die Freundlichkeit, Qualität und Natürlichkeit spricht in Zeiten wie diesen für sich, finden wir. "I was in Lebzelterei on December 17. 2016. at around 11 am. I tried to order and asked a waitress middleaged one for gingerbread and coffee in English. She didn 't understand and repeated something in German. Ok, then I asked for apfelstrudel and coffee and...she brought them to me. Then I was looking for the toilet and I was standing in the middle of the entrance to another hall. The same waitress came from behind I didn 't see her then she pushed !!! me and yelled really, she really yelled at me! at me from behind so that she can pass. After having eaten and drunk the coffee I tried to pay the bill but she ignored me passing by me a lot of times. Finally I succeeded to pay and she didn 't say anything. Nothing. No 'thank you '... So I am still wondering if it was a bad dream because I am a kind person and people are generally kind to me all the Austrians I met are really kind and hospitable people, all other people in Mariazell were very kind the salespersons, everybody. So such a behaviour is really intolerable. Was it because I 'm a woman, a Croat? Was it racism towards ' 'lower Slavic race ' ' or I shouldn 't have appeared there alone? Anyway, my trip was exceptionally good, everything was very good, including food, people, so all the good things prevailed over this incident, but anyhow, I decided to share my experience with TripAdvisor site just in order to prevent such things happen. "Meine Familie (4 Erwachsene und ein Kleinkind) haben hier zu Mittag gegessen. Besonders schön fallen zuerst die mit Stoffservietten gediegen gedeckten Tische auf. Das Service ist prompt und aufmerksam. Sofort wurde hinterfragt, ob der Kindersessel passt. Die Getränke und Speisen wurden unverzüglich aufgenommen. Die Getränke standen kurzfristig am Tisch. Wir hatten Frittatensuppe, Kartoffelsuppe, gebackenes Putenschnitzel, gebackener Karpfen, Filetsteak mit Spiegelei und Pommes frites sowie ungarisches Gulyas - alles war ausgezeichnet. Geschmackvoll, nicht fett und akzeptable Portionen. Das gebackene Putenschnitzel war mit der Kartoffelsuppe und Apfeltorte als Menu angeboten. Wir ersuchten die Apfeltorte gegen eine Sachertorte auszutauschen, was nicht nur ohne Aufpreis erfolgte, sondern - da das Kleinkind schon müde war - in einem Tortenkarton verpackt mitgegeben wurde. Einzig kleiner Kritikpunkt war, dass das Filetsteak (vom Biobauern) nicht wie bestellt leicht blutig, sondern eher rosé serviert wurde. Aber vielleicht war dies dem Umstand geschuldet, dass mein Sohn sich mit seiner Tochter (dem Kleinkind) etwas länger befasst hat und das Steak dadurch zu lange nachgegart hat.....Der Kellner ist oft vorbeigekommen und hat sich erkundigt, ob alles ok ist. Er war besonders aufmerksam. Ebenso die Chefin, die uns noch mit Rat und Tat zu Einkaufsmöglichkeiten in Mariazell zur Seite gestanden ist."

"We visited this restaurant on Saturday, it was half empty. When we walked in we were told we will have to wait for food for 30 min. It took the waitress 10 min to come for order for drinks, it took her another 10 min to bring the drinks (and we did not get all the drinks we ordered) and nobody came for food order for another 20 min. When I asked the waitress if we can order the food I was told "definitely not now". I had to ask another waiter there to get us the food. After that it went pretty smoothly as the young man did his best. The table next to us walked away as nobody was paying attention to them for almost for an hour after receiving the drinks. The food was nice, fresh but the experience of such a poor service heavily overweight the overall experience."
