"Visited the cheshire tavern tonight for a mother's meal with my family! after a small mix with the booking we found a table in no time! when I and my brother went to order, we warned, there was a 45 minute waiting time for food when one of the chefs was sick and the steamer had packed. the type that served was completely honest and apologetic, which was appreciated, as I personally prefer to be directly with me when I wait for a bit instead of being fucked away or being given false promises! all the workers were helpful and polite and did everything they could think about, how busy it is about 17 o'clock on mothering Sunday! After about an hour we were offered free drinks, because for our patient, then arrived shortly after our meal, all four of them cooked and prepared for a very high standard, beautiful and warm and generous portions. we were then informed by the waitress that we could have dessert for them because of our waiting period! we have tipped the staff for their drinking money, because sincerely none of them did something wrong and everything did the best they could in a difficult situation! will go back to any case, wanted to thank joe personally, but I know that he was thrown away in the kitchen that shows me only the kind of person he is, someone arranged sick and it was all hands on deck and he is just in the job of the person he is! respect them all their cool and delivered first-class service! I and my family all had a really nice time and will definitely be back"

"“We decided to go to the Egerton Arms as it was a birthday treat for a member of our family, and also we had not been for many years. When we arrived there was quite a few cars parked on the carpark. Parking for disabled...folk was unclear as we could not see any defined disabled parking, so we squeezed the car as close as possible to the back door entrance. As it was a Sunday we were told to look at the Sunday menu only. This was not clear on the website which had examples of a la carte menu and sunday menu, we were expecting both menus to be available. We thought the menu was quite limited compared to other local pubs. Between us we had the roast beef, roast lamb and roast butternut, sweet potato chestnut. We all thought they were tasty but a bit lukewarm. For dessert we had apple and blackberry crumble which again was tasty but some reported it being too cool. One refused to eat it as there was too cool and excessive liquid in the crumble and they did not use the custard due to this fact. Staff were bright, cheery, quick and helpful. One of our party decided to go to the wheelchair accessible toilet, but could not use it due to the toilet being too narrow for them to get off the wheelchair and go to the toilet There were grab rails available, but due to the cumbersome manoeuvring required the toilet could not be used. We had to leave earlier thn planned due to this problem. We did not have the chance to have a coffee, which may have been a blessing if that was tepid too We can not recommend The Egerton Arms Country Inn due to the fact that it is not suitable for our family member who uses a wheelchair. We checked before we booked to see if there were suitable toilets. We were told there were. There were not! A lot of other folk in wheelchairs who find it hard to walk would find the supposedly wheelchair accessible toilet' totally inaccessible. A struggle at best The food was just so so, not warm enough, so, you felt as if you were rushing your food. Go elsewhere if you require a warmer than tepid meal Very disappointing"

"Came for Sunday dinner with a big group. menu had different options without being unnecessary. I went with the chicken liver parrot for my appetit and the lamb for my head. the food came in good steps and was always at the right temperature. a beautiful afternoon. I would highly recommend as Sunday option."
