"I don’t know how anyone could give L’Enclume less than 5 stars. I had high expectations of course however, every single part of this experience was above and beyond. The food is outstanding, but the staff were even better. The service is the best I’ve ever experienced. Every single staff member I interacted with was exceptional. Most of all we had fun! Congratulations! L’Enclume deserve their number one spot amongst UK restaurants."

"We dined here on the last night of our Honeymoon in the Lakes. Unfortunately there was a party, who were old enough to know better, who were loud, abusive towards the staff and demanding their money back. The waitress looked about 18 and was left...in tears by this party, but this didn't stop her from being incredibly attentive to our needs and moving us to a private area away from the disruption. She even offered dinner by candlelight when she found out we were on Honeymoon! Firstly, there are prices on the menu and, secondly, we paid after out meal. My husband had the ribs which were melt in the mouth and the chicken was cooked to perfection. I had the Hake which was incredible- creamy and delicious. We did have to wait a little while for our food, but I've waited longer and the staff were obviously had a difficult night. I do wonder if our experience of the staff had something to do with how well behaved we were as patrons. It goes to show, if you're good to the waiting staff, they'll look after you."

"Some of the best foods that my family has eaten for a dae! all we have ordered was delicious, the Oxtail Pie would be highly competitive. the personal was wonderful and negated to our everyone needed. Nice to know that we can come back with our dogs to enjoy another great meal."

"Sunday dinner was delicious, but small in portion (especially the main course). If a menu says sprouts and roast potatoes, I would expect more than 1 small potatoes and 1.5 sprouts (like a ball fried). The herbal puree was no more than 1 EL in size and had to scratch the plate to find the chestnuts. Would have to eat 3 courses to feel remotely full."
