"We have been a few times to this restaurant in the past couple years. It has lovely views and many walking opportunities around. The first time we went there, we had to pay for parking but we did not have any coins. We were planning to go for a coffee at the restaurant and so my husband asked the staff if they could change the bill into coins so we could pay the parking fee. He was told no, that is not possible, this is not their responsibility. Eventually he asked to order a glass of water and then got change that way. We thought okay, fine, maybe this person was just having a bad day. We went again yesterday and it was admittedly very busy. We were directed to go find a table in the Salle. There were no tables available so we waited awkwardly in the middle of the restaurant for 5 minutes. We have a small child and we tried to keep him out of the way, but still he was yelled at to move by a staff member carring drinks through. Once seated, my son was excited about the table decorations which were small crowns with candles inside. I removed the candle and placed it on my head to make him laugh. The waitress promptly took it from my hands, set it on the table next to us and said that is not a toy. I found this to be very inhospitable. After consuming our coffee, we wanted to get going. My husband asked for the bill and we waited 15 minutes for the bill to come. I can only assume after all this that this establishment can stay busy due to the beautiful views and playground outside, but the staff is just too terrible and we will not be back."

"This restaurant is located right on the Aegerisee a beautiful lake just 10 minutes from Zug. The food, especially the fish was delicious. However, if you do go here plan at least 2 hours for a meal. Service is extremely slow, even when the restaurant was nowhere near full. We waited 30 minutes for our starter, which was a small salad and then another hour for our main course. This is not a one off as we have tried the restaurant a number of times since the location and he food are really good."

"Ochsen is a large traditional house in the centre of Rothenthurm directly over the church. Inside it is a mixture of cafe and dining room in a pleasantly relaxed and “tidy” atmosphere. Needless to say, the whole place is immaculately clean. A huge thumb to Judith for her smiling and attentive service throughout the dinner. It is really Swiss hospitality best! The menu is short with homemade dishes and regional products. Interestingly, as the cook is Pakistani, the menu “East meets West” reflects Swiss traditional dishes as well as exotic curry flavors. First, I decided for the classic pumpkin soup delicious and curious. As the main course, I decided for the lamb spinat curry with spinach and onions. Spicy, really delicious and generous portion. As dessert, I pampered with a traditional winter sweet: “Apfel Zimt Küchlein”, i.e. roasted apple rings, flavored with cinnamon, served with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. Delicious! In the high price of Switzerland the bill remained incredibly moderate. At CHF61, it offers excellent value for money. A restaurant that I have now included among my favorites."
