"Stopped here on a motorcycle drive for a light snack. The view is great, service is chipper, and the food gives you plenty of energy for whatever you decide to do afterward. The Coupe Peche Melba was delicious, garnished with roasted almonds. Prices are high, but that's to be expected in out-of-the-way locations."

"A walk over the alm over stock and stone, through waldeshain drives you already on the dead. but if you see the whistling Swiss fahne on the highham, you forget the heavy knee and put one more zack to create the last piece to the stool. here aud the hochham gives delicious appenzeller specialties, my favorite dish here is sporstsalad garnished, after that a coffee lutz with pflümli and you can prepare for the descent. with beautiful weather there is nothing more beautiful than a place here on the spacious terrace, with views of the säntis and the beautiful Swiss mountain world . here on hochham is self-service. you have ordered to eat and drink, pay everything immediately at the cash register, knife and fork as well as the drinks one takes with to the selected table, the ordered food is then brought by the always friendly service to the table. eating is tasty and prepared with love. it is appreciated by the staff if you leave the mountain restaurant the table empty and the used skimmed at the cash register at the intended place. a small thing you like to do here. a visit at chantal and his team is worth a hike again and again."

"Just before leaving the small village of Urnäsch, I stopped for dinner in this family-owned restaurant located on the main street.From the outside the house is nicely decorated. The dining room is small and simple, yet quite pleasant. The tenants are warm and friendly.As starter the mixed salad was fresh and well-seasoned. As main course the house specialty is Cordon Bleu in seemingly endless combinations: 18 (!) possibilities and you can even choose whether you want pork, veal or chicken.I opted for the "Engel Cordon Bleu" - with pork, Urnäsch local cheese, and Appenzeller air-dried beef: delicious. Along with the French fries, the tenant also brought her homemade mayonnaise - well, it was really to die for!Prices remain quite low for Swiss standards. Including soda and coffee, the bill amounted to CHF45.Beware that the restaurant does not accept any credit cards, only cash."
