"Ein lauer Sommerabend verführte mich zu einer Pause im Innenhof des Deux Ponts im mittelalterlichen Stolberg. Das Menü (39 €) beginnt mit einem preiswürdigen Vitello Tonato. Das Kalbfleisch mit Estragonsauce und frittierten Kapern hinterlässt einen nachhaltigen Eindruck. Anschließend eine Casoulette von der Ente an Bohnen und Tomaten. Flügel, dazu ein wenig Brust und Magen - alles, was das Tier so hergibt. Abschließend ein Tiramisu mit Blätterteig und Orangenchutney. Lecker. Die gut sortierten Weine sind etwas für jeden Geschmack. Fazit: Wer südlich von Aachen gut Essen will, kommt an diesem Haus nicht vorbei."

"Nach langer Zeit waren wir "Zur Treppe" essen, nachdem wir von vielen Seiten sehr Positives gehört hatten und nachdem offensichtlich seit einiger Zeit der Koch gewechselt hat.Wir waren sehr angenehm überrascht und werden sicher demnächst öfter hier zu Gast sein.Die Atmosphäre im Restaurant ist sehr angenehm. Man kann, wenn man es eher geselliger mag, im Thekenbereich sitzen, wo immer auch Stammgäste an der Theke ihr Bier trinken.Man kann aber auch im hinteren Bereich im separaten Saal ruhiger sitzen.Die Speisekarte ist durchaus reichhaltig und bietet wohl für jeden Geschmack etwas - auf der Homepage des Restaurants ist sie mit den aktuellen Preisen einsehbar.Das von mir gewählte Pfeffersteak war wirklich auf den Punkt gebraten, hatte wunderbare Röstaromen und war innen perfekt rosa. Die Pommes frites waren lecker, vom Typ "dicke, belgische Fritten". Die Soße lecker und offensichtlich selbst gemacht - und nicht aus der Tüte.Obwohl ich eher kein Salatfreund bin hat mir der (saisonal bedingte) Wintersalat sehr gut geschmeckt.Das Restaurant "Zur Treppe" ist im Moment völlig zu Recht die erste Adresse für ein "normales Essen" (neben dem "Breiniger Hof" mit Kneipenatmosphäre und dem hochpreisigen "Tafelspitz")."
