"Been here a few times now and can honestly say its been perfect every time. The food is simply delicious and perfect with the wine parings. Can never leave here without a full belly and a case of wine under each arm. It can get a bit windy in the outdoor seating so remember to bring a jacket, though they do provide blankets on the chillier days. All the staff are very lovely, but Mim stole the show- she was attentive, hilarious and very kind. Overall its fabulous and cannot recommend this place enough!"

"I searched all over Canberra for a place that did a decent Omelette, little did I realise this hidden Gem was what I was looking for all along! Not only did they make one of the best Omelette's I've ever had, second to none, but their sauces were smooth and addicting! Their fried rice is enough to turn any meal into a feast, I've ordered with them for when I was having guests over and everyone was pleased. I cannot recommend them more, they're one of the few places in Canberra that I keep coming back to again and again."

"A lovely local with friendly faces. Great service, big and delicious kebabs (chicken, lettuce, tomato, onion, taboulli, cheese with hummus and garlic sauce my gaaawd, yum)!! Amazing pide's (super veg with chicken is the bomb) and the hummus dip is to die for. Lots of parking and if you'd prefer you can ask for delivery. Highly recommend!"

"The Homestead Cafe is actually not far out of town, just down Wallaroo Road opposite hall. It's well signed posted and not hard to find. The decor is gorgeous and the view over the valley is relaxing and pretty. Clearly looked like the cafe is...busy with high teas, but service at lunch time on a Sunday was great. It offers BYO with corkage a reasonable $3.50 per person. The Homestead's Tasting Plate $22 we shared was enough for two people with extra bread $3. It was delicious. The homemade pesto, hummous, and Poacher's Pantry Prosciutto was all excelent, but the real stand out's were the caramelised onion and caramelised olives. I'm looking forward to going back and having this again. But it does pay to check the menu before heading out. Other options for a light lunch would have cost $19.50 for Thai Pumpkin soup and bread or $25 $30 for a Homestead Pie/ Barramundi and chips/Steak sandwich/pasta dish/duck confit. Assuming that the entree sized entrees Zucchini fritters/ Brie and bread/Shrimp at around $16 would not be enough $25 for main sized entrees . So a simple lunch with BYO wine for two will probably cost upward of $46 for soup, bread unless you go for the tasting plate $32 for two with BYO wine."

"My friend and I returned to the Vineyard Cafe today after a gap of over four years. So much had been developed for the better. The Wisteria has been retained but the stunning view down to the Murrumbidgee River is now part of an enclosed courtyard which makes dining even better with a natural backdrop. The set menu offered choices which proved quite delicious with accompanying sauces and flavours. It was a similiar story with main courses. We had the barramundi and the roast lamb both well presented with accompanying flavours. Wines from the vineyard complemented the meals. Great service and ambience."

"We recently ordered a take away prawn pide plus some fesulye - Turkisj style beans. When we got it home we found that the pide tasted almost entirtely of salt and pepper, prawns were rubbery and had no taste at all, bread was tough. Beans should be cooked in a rich tomato and garlic sauce - but once again the taste was salt and peper and lots of it.We have eaten Turkish in al sorts of places from upmaket to hole in the wall joints in the back streets of Istanbul and nearly alwys enjoyed it - but sad to say the food at the Charnwood Pide is rubbish."
