"A friend suggested we visit this Carlton restaurant for a group of 8. We had a perfectly comfortable table with extra space for the wines we brought and they set us up on their terrace which is just lovely. Great ambiance, outstanding menu, good value, and creative combinations but they aren 't too far out there they just know what ingredients can go together. I 'm disappointed I didn 't take photos because each dish was beautifully presented but it looked so good we all just dug in. Nick was our server and he was personable yet professional and efficient, and perfectly attentive. He was always there when we needed him, but he never rushed us. We brought wine and they had superb stemware and were prompt with the ice buckets. The halibut ceviche was spectacular. So was the burrata starter. For entrees we had a variety of orders for the table duck breast, home made cavatelli and more. Nothing disappointed. That night we did not take advantage of the Large format dining options but I will next time and share beef wellington or their Earth and Sea Signature which is a 16 oz NY strip steak and 3 jumbo dungeness crab cakes. So many great options. The dining room inside was spacious and I love how they don 't crowd the tables together. 100% recommended don 't miss!"

"I have a rare condition called histamine intolerance. It requires that I only eat meat that is frozen immediately after slaughter or else I get very sick. I can’t eat any meat from the grocery store. I was surprised when I called Kookoolan and not only had they heard of this condition (because most other farmers haven’t but they have a special butchering process for people like me! I got a half lamb and it was SO good! Tender, juicy, organic, grass-fed nutrition with no reaction to the meat! TheIs farm is a delight to work with! Very professional, organized, friendly and well-informed. I’m getting a quarter cow next and I’m a customer for life! I could not be happier with this experience! The farm store is great too! Very clean organized and friendly, knowledgeable staff too!"

"We stopped on a Monday on the way back from a long weekend on the coast. Before our group has gone, we have already found out what future outings could be decided to resume an interim stop of Carlton so that we could see each other again. Excellent and creative taplist with something for everyone. The food is fresh, delicious and generously cut. You have to share the epic, almost funny big bezel. All artistic touches (including complicated tile work) were made by the family. Even if it was not a beer drinker oasis in the middle of the wine country, it is definitely worth a visit."
