"Kudos to Giessbach for running a fully vegetarian and vegan gourmet restaurant! The meals my partner and I had at Le Tapis Rouge were pleasing to the eye and tasted delicious. It was lovely to savour classic French dishes, including a creamy and spicy bisque...flavoured with seaweed, not lobster or other crustaceans. As a vegetarian, I haven’t had much of that. The vegan spinach stuffed crêpes were very tasty and satisfying. I can definitely recommend Le Tapis Rouge and I think the food will be well liked by most, if not all, visitors. I can also strongly recommend staying overnight at this beautiful hotel with stunning surroundings."

"Food was wonderful. There were lunch specials. Everyone liked their choices. I had dessert for my lunch! The apple streusel was divine. There was some confusion when our waitress questioned those who ordered water. She wanted to know if they wanted a large or small...glass of water. Imagine our surprise when we were charged for the tap water."

"We had lunch here and we very happy with the experience. The view from the terrace is great and the train line running in front of it made my 4 year old son very happy as well. The train was not noisy at all. Like everything in Switzerland it wasn't very cheap, but the quality of the food was amazing. Servicewas friendly and welcoming, gave our son some colouring in to do as well."
