I know I review La Cave every year but that is simply because we go there every year when we are in the Gers. It is fantastic value and the food is beautiful and the whole place is family run. This is real French Cooking at its best. The 38 Euro menu includes aperitifs all the wine and Armagnac and would not be available in the UK, if it was it would cost a fortune. This place has come on leaps and bounds over the last few years moving from just serving Buffalo as it has so many of them to now a varied delicious menu and great wines. The chef...is excellent and the owners very accommodating. Not the cheapest but happy to pay a little more for a wonderful experience and exceptional food. The burger is a local favorite."

"Si vous aimez les coeurs de canard, n'en prenez pas vous pourriez bien être aussi déçu que moi. Leur goût insipide et la petitesse de leur taille me laissent penser qu'il ne s'agissait pas de coeur de canard. En dessert, je me suis laissé tenter par une part de tarte au citron meringuée maison. Si je ne doute pas du "fait maison", la molesse de la pate et le manque de saveur de la meringue me persuadent que le "fait maison" n'est pas "fait du jour". Bref, j'ai été particulièrement déçu !Par contre si vous prenez une salade et un fondant au chocolat qui n'est lui pas fait maison, vous devriez être moins déçu. Je pense que la qualité des plats servis est très variable. Côté service, le sourire est au rendez-vous."
