We visited Le Table at Hotel Le Pignonnet on our first night in Aix-en-Provence and enjoyed a delicious meal in a beautiful setting. Our table provided a view of the gardens, which were gorgeous even in the pre-season. Our meal included trying sweetbreads for the first time. The salmon in a mushroom bouillon with soja sauce starter was especially delicious. The service was very good. All around a wonderful evening! read more.

What Michael P doesn't like about La Pigonnet:
Beautiful setting saved the day. All apps were nicely presented and Ok. The mains truly disappointed. Risotto looked good until you took the first over- salted spoonful. The steak however blew up the night. Worst attempt ever. You couldn’t cut it and when you finally sawed through it, well you could chew it. We were not the only ones as others had same experience.
