"We were on an overnight stay while travelling on our family holiday. The restaurant was one of a few recommended by the owner of the hotel we were staying at. We were greeted and offered a terrace seat and then presented with menus which came in the format of an iPad which then displayed the menu in your choice of language complete with photos which was a great help given we had two teenagers with us. The waiter was great, spoke English and also indulged us with our attempts at finch. The menu was varied and the quality of food was fantastic. All the staff were attentive and helpful. The prices were fair €140 for 4 x 3 course meals c/w drinks. We would certainly eat there again if we are back in Alençon next year."

"After a week of indulging in luscious French food we were craving something Asian en route home. Spotting La Papaya Verte we immediately pulled over. We were a bit late but still were seated by the nice owner. Around us locals were finishing up their lunches probably the €9,50 lunch menu. We went for à la carte when we spotted the soupe tonkinoise (pho), which had raw beef, cooked beef and beef meatballs. We also had a starter of nems and spring rolls. Lots of fresh herbs, a bit of lime, lovely. Even though they probably had to keep open late(r) because of us, we weren't rushed at all, having some coffee and being offered hot towels after our meal. A nice place, I can fully understand why locals would come here for lunch."
