Post commons is an old post office building, it is spacious. When it's busy it doesn't seem too loud, perfect cafe sound without being overwhelmed for me. The service was great, they were patient while I picked out what I wanted. Drinks and food was delicious! View all feedback.
What Jeff Shank doesn't like about Post Commons:
Very cool place, large, definitely a neat spot for a reception. They do have a small alcohol selection and food menu. However, it's a little on the expensive side compared to other coffee shops in the area and the food was nothing special. View all feedback.
Great quiet and nice place and the coffees are delicious
This place is awesome. Great food and wonderful coffee selections.
Had high hopes for the place. Good food and coffee menu, beautiful decor, and high reviews. Ordered a breakfast sandwich, side sausage patties, and tea latte. The tea latte was perfect and served in a reasonable amount of time. The sandwich, however, was very bland. I asked for butter and jelly for the bread and waited 17 minutes! By the time I got it, my sandwich was cold and had to be remade. By the time that was done, the sausage was cold .
We had our wedding venue here for our reception. Natalie and Ashley were so helpful with any questions, meetings, etc. We were so blessed to have our wedding here it was our dream and they did everything possible to make it happen. We loved the space and how the day turned out. They let us drop off items early, and that was a major help to keep set up day more simple. We are obsessed with the space and are so excited that we can visit it frequently for coffee dates to re live the day. My only comment for others to help with budgeting is that there is a 10% service fee. I thought that meant off the venue price, but it is off the entire bill, which could include the coffee bar, linens, tables, and more. Post let us know about the service fee, I just misunderstood how it would be applied, so I thought this note could be helpful for others! Post now has a getting ready room as well, which is a huge advantage. I would recommend this space to anyone. We loved it, and our guests did too!
This place had what is probably the best cup of drip coffee we have ever had. We have traveled a lot, and been in a lot of coffee shops and this one wins out. Also, the staff was super friendly and helpful (we asked for local lunch tips and they gave us a great one), and the atmosphere was great. We highly recommend Post Commons if you happen to find yourself in Alton.
