"This place has local ambiance and vibes from the time you see it from the street. While on a business trip we were looking for a place to have an ice cold beer and good food. When you walk in the first thing you notice is the patrons, they are all locals and a bunch of people on a business dinner. That, to me, was exactly what was needed. The entrance is on the side instead of the side facing the street. Once you walk in you are greeted by the friendly staff and taken to your table. The place is nothing fancy but clean and the decor is a throwback and the restaurant is filled with families enjoying a great meal. The beer selection was pretty good and the size of frozen mug starts at XL, or so it looked. The steaks are all very good quality, rivaling many of the big city steakhouses but at a much lower price point. This is a place that I would come to every time I am in town. If you like a low key, friendly place with great steaks at a price that is quite affordable, Fred's is the place"
