"The Cafe earns its rating of being the best restaurant in Ames. Unrivaled ambience, sharp service, and great food. We went for dinner and the lighting/music was truly immaculate. The portion sizes are smaller than average but are as satiating as ever. I recommend the Korean Steak Eggs. The highlight of my visit was none other than the carrot cake. Quite possibly the best I've ever had! The Cafe is fantastic, period. Couldn't recommend it more!!"

"I love the atmosphere and the food, but the service was definitely lacking. This was our first time here, and as a customer service worker myself, I was disappointed when we got to the counter. The girl didn't even greet us or try to help us out. In fact, the only nice words we got were thank you and a smile, and I think it was by the owner or manager. We plan on bringing our kids next time, and hopefully, it will be different, and I can change my rating.
