"There were 2 shrimp shell pieces mixed in with my fries. Unfortunately I didn’t see the pieces until I had eaten most of my food. I had a patty melt and my partner had a gyro so there was absolutely no reason for shrimp to have come in contact with our food in any capacity. It felt like an allergy hazard and it was definitely off-putting to the point where I didn’t finish my food. Also a random guy was walking around the restaurant asking if we ate which was confusing because they were in gym shorts and a baseball cap and no apron or uniform to indicate that they were in any way affiliated with the restaurant. Just a very bizarre experience. On the plus side, our waitress was very kind, and the service was fast."

"This place is cute and relaxing. The bartenders also tend to be super nice/fun. The concept of the wine cards is also cool. You load like ~15+ dollars on a card and you can dispense whatever wines you want with varying ounces. The money gets refunded if you don’t use it all. Would recommend for a chill night out. Sometimes they have music."

"This is an amazing spot tucked away on Main Street. The atmosphere is second only to the food. Great escape from the normal hotel breakfast. Whenever I come to town, I always stop by The Grove Cafe!"

"I love the atmosphere and the food, but the service was definitely lacking. This was our first time here, and as a customer service worker myself, I was disappointed when we got to the counter. The girl didn't even greet us or try to help us out. In fact, the only nice words we got were thank you and a smile, and I think it was by the owner or manager. We plan on bringing our kids next time, and hopefully, it will be different, and I can change my rating. "Cornbred is easily the best BBQ truck anywhere in Central Iowa. Today was my first visit and it 's safe to say it won 't be my last. Their brisket is incredible! Smoky, juicy, tender and loaded with flavor. I had their Brisket and a Biscuit at the Ames Farmer 's Market this morning and was extremely satisfied. Flaky biscuit, tasty gravy and some nice savory pickled onions on top to balance the flavors. I would gladly pay $9 for this meal again and again! They also had a 'Porffle ' which was a cornbread waffle smothered with a generous portion of their delicious pulled pork and a pineapple slaw. It 's safe to say that it 's all good. To top it off... locally-brewed Alluvial Craft Rootbeer! Yeah, I 'm now a HUGE fan of Cornbred and will be back again and again. I will tell the world about the awesomeness that is Cornbred!"

"I am from out of town and try to go to a place with a fare from a different country. This was a fantastic meal. My wife and daughter enjoyed the experience. I will definitely be back. Service was top notch. One question. Do you offer military discounts. I Kid-friendliness: I would add a children's menu. But that didn't take away from the experience.
