"The fact that Chef Chris Pyne of Founder's House has a loyal following of regulars who drive miles and book an overnight stay in Annapolis Royal speaks volumes. While we've never had a disappointing meal here, it is his seven-course tasting menus that allow him the platform on which to truly shine. Chef Chris has two characteristics essential to any great Chef (aside from his extensive training and international experience). Ongoing curiosity leading to fearless experimentation and playfulness. Chef Chris Pyne, fortunately for Nova Scotia, has a perfect balance of both."

"Words of advice. Don't have a close proximity open kitchen if your chefs are going to verbally abuse the patrons over food allergy alterations. The chef was a huge jerk and literally brought my wife to tears while sitting there waiting for food. In the end, out of spite they gave have her a luke warm patty and a dry bun. Wow. What a truly horrible experience."

"Amazing customer service! Super friendly and accommodating.We ordered a combo plate which offered more than enough food for 2 people. The wonton soup was the best I've had in Canada!Due to Covid, they have only been serving take out. They have an organized system that keeps people from entering the building to pick up orders and they bring the order out to you.Would be a great option for a to go lunch that could be eaten while sitting on the grounds of the fort, overlooking the water."
