"The restaurant is at the front of a motel. The ambience is, well, OK but nothing special. It goes without saying but I will say it anyway: this is Nova Scotia, stick with the seafood (which we did). The starter of seafood chowder was excellent. My sautéed scallops served in a cream sauce were outstanding, but the sauce itself could have been more sophisticated. My spouse’s seafood platter was good, but the scallops were the best part of the platter. Her haddock was a bit overcooked and the mussels were very small and not sweet. (NOTE: it is sad but true that throughout our trip the mussels were small and were nowhere near as sweet and tasty as the PEI mussels that we can (and do) regularly buy at our local nothing-special mid-Atlantic grocery stores). We both found the accompanying mixed vegetables to be clearly fresh, but pedestrian in the cooking and flavoring.Tip: choose a table, not a booth. Even if you like booths, two of the booths are set up for larger parties and this tends to be the noisiest part of the restaurant. Although we cannot – and do not – blame the restaurant, we were seated next to a large group that was already drunk when we arrived and behaved accordingly.WOULD WE GO AGAIN?: No, we would try a competitor.WOULD WE RECOMMEND? No."
