'Teresa Alves ' is a small tea room in the old village of Alentejo, Arraiolos. Arraiolos is famous for its typical handmade rugs. 'Teresa Alves ' offers a variety of handmade cookies, biscuits and cakes. I really enjoyed the cinamon cookies at tea time. It is cosy and you can taste some portuguese specialities; besides, the girls at the counter are very nice.
What nelsonm634 doesn't like about Teresa Alves:
Disgusting. Bad service. Really bad....only good thing was the wine. The glass they gave me was a glass for water....after eating the plates with the leftovers which was almost everything...well., its been about 15 minutes and they haven't taken off the table....no.no.no...this is wrong. Staff is very friendly and it is a good place for a quick meal. One negative point: too much on the fry stuff.
A place to have a coffee or grab a snack with the feeling that you belong. Try the empadas and chat a litttle about the place.

When the weather conditions is good you can also eat outside, and there's a counter where you can sit and enjoy. The guest room invites you to linger and extensively eat.
