During our stay in Evora and stroll through the old city we were looking for a light lunch and stumbled upon Mercador Do Pao. It was almost 3:00 (when they close for midday) yet the owner was extremely welcoming and invited us to order. We had the best sandwiches of our trip. Stepped into this cafe after reading the reviews here about big generous sandwiches. The soup was warm they heated it up more when asked but it was bland. The hamburger my husband had was terrible. The chips were nice enough. The best thing about my meal was the pork sandwich which was quite tasty and fresh and saved a one star review.
