Of course, no weekend trip to Asheville would be completed without stopping at the white duck taco shop. my man and I tried a lot of tacos. our favorites in order were: steak and cheese, korean beef bulgogi, bangkok shrimp and spicy buffalo chicken. they were not very popular of the lamb gyro or the shrimp grits. the taste of tacos was ok, but the texture felt a bit 'off' in comparison to the other delicious offered.... Very good place, the tacos are very exotic and very niche, so not great for a very picky food or a child, but they were good when you are ready to try fun tacos. $5 a taco, I ate 2 and was filled. Very good price, staff was nice and knowledge about allergy and ingredients. I'd be back in the area.
The food was creative, fresh and very well presented. It was spicy and perfectly cooked. The staff was cheerful and friendly. The entire ambience of this place was great and definitely recommend it for a non-traditional Taco Square in Asheville. You also have mixed drinks. Note The Jerk Chicken option is delicious, just not what Ruck Chicken should taste like
If you like Tacos at all, this is a must in Asheville. Tacos here are always unique and delicious! You can't go wrong with your choice! I like that you can order as many tacos as you want, and can mix and match your flavors. I ordered a falafel taco and her fried fish taco and they were both so good. The Taco itself was high quality (and they give you two per taco because they fill the tacos so full) and the ingredients were all fresh. I tried her salted caramel-makaron-pie, and was a little disappointed: it was more like a coconut-cutard, served in a smoke (no crumb cake), with a thin salted caramel sauce above. So, stop what they do best: Tacos! Surprising number of seats inside (they have a back space) plus outdoor tables with umbrellas!
This place was at the top of our list to try while in the city. We're so glad we visited it because it was delicious. Between two of us we share 5 different flavors and they were all great. We tried the Korean beef Bulgogi, Duck w/Mole, steak and cheese, fish and Bangkok shrimp. Hard to choose a favorite, but probably the duck. The service was also excellent... fast and friendly.
White Duck Taco excels in its variety! Options for meat, vegetarian, and vegan with creative takes on each. Wide selection of beverages all at a decent price. One of the best quick lunch spots downtown. I like to come here after a long run to refuel.
