We called in for lunch without a booking and were seated quickly. We were brought a bottle of water and orders taken by friendly staff and the food followed without too long a wait. All the meals were piping hot. The fish was the best we had tasted for sometime and the pies were tasty, with delicious creamy mash and veg cooked to perfection. We will definitely return. This could be a lovely pub and has been over the years. Sadly we were not greeted or acknowledged on arrival, it wasn't busy and when we were served not a smile was given. The atmosphere has been killed by the grey walls and lack of personality. We sat outside and it was a lovely evening it should have been buzzing, even the waiting staff didn't smile. What a shame for a country pub to have lost it's personality. View all feedback.
