"This is a fantastic spot to eat in Anzere, the burgers are delicious!!! The restaurant has a quirky vibe and the staff are friendly and speak excellent English, the desserts are yummy too. We were a party of ten and they accommodated us brilliantly, even...supplying toys and games to entertain the children. The kids menu was really good too, we will definitely be coming back next year! An excellent meal was had by all!"

"Historic restaurant since 1845, I always go here when I'm in Gstaad. Swiss chalet atmosphere, impeccable service. French, German or English spoken fluently by all waiters and waitresses. Wise prices but in line with Gstaad. Proper cuisine, it's not gastronomy. A la carte vegetarian dishes. I really like this place out of time."

"I had been into this place about 8 years ago for the first time and I had kept a very nice memory of this place. So, naturally, when we walked past I suggested going back and I was extremely excited to go again as I was looking forward to a great meal and great ambiance. I was about to be really disappointed. First of all, we arrived I guess a little early for their standards (which was totally fine for my standards but I agree these can differ) and the restaurant manager welcomed us in such a harsh and nervous way, which was really not pleasant. He sighed and told us we could have a table in an alcove and the tone in his voice really was that he was making us a huge favor... The table was in a smaller room on the side of the main dining room and the employees of the restaurant were having dinner right next to us before starting their shifts. The ambiance was that of a school restaurant. There was absolutely no service whatsoever, in the proper sense, with class and politeness and elegance as you could expect. We really felt like we were treated like extras and that we were disturbing their carefully planned night more than anything else by popping up without a reservation. Rude as can be! Then, the food was more than average. There was nothing in the plates to make up for the way we were being treated. The food resembled the type of food you can cook yourself at home, really. The chicken was subpar in terms of quality, really thick and veinous, not tender at all, not quality at all either, and the mashed potatoes were just banal. The jardiniere they had thrown onto the chicken slices was below average too. I could have cooked myself this meal at home. There was no creativity, no originality and no finesse. This type of cuisine is really heavy on your stomach and I don't think I even was able to finish. I understand that we might have had to make a reservation and that we might as well have arrived a little early, but that is no excuse for a restaurant manager to treat customers in an annoyed way. Better say there is no table available for the night. I would not return there and I don't recommend."
