a lovely old world cafe. it's a 30 min walk from the train station in Bad Gastein. the pastries are delicious and fresh. they serve pasta (the owner is italian I believe) and other small snacks. the tables outside get good sun. definitely worth a visit. View all feedback.
What Angela Carbone doesn't like about Cafe Schuh:
expects 20min before the waiter brings the menu, and another 15 minutes before he reappears to take the order the half of the elements on the menu are not available, accept no form of olestic money. View all feedback.

Lovely cafe with great location, beautiful indoors like 19th century Vienna. Superb apple strudel homemade. Coffee is also high class.
We were recommended to go here by some locals we met further down on the Kaiser Wilhelm Promenade. It was also just down the road from our hotel, Villa Excelsior. We ordered espresso grob, which are double espresso and my bf had a strudel covered...in vanilla custard sauce. The coffee in particular was amazing. There are outdoor chairs and tables that get the sun in the afternoons and the cafe does lunch including pasta and soups.
While hiking around in Bad Gastein surely you pass by Cafe Schuh on one of the main trails going or coming from Grune Baum or Bad Hofgastein. Nice staff and good coffe cakes, so have a rest and enjoy the sunny terrace.
This is a welcome break from a walk along the footpath it sits on. Various types of tea/coffee and a fantastic array of cakes. All welcoming to re-charge the energy.
