This old type country pub is a hidden treasure.. Traditional pub food menu, using good quality ingredients and reasonably priced. Service with a smile and nothing too much trouble. Large car park. Looking forward to trying Sunday lunch. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Old Moor Tavern:
Practically empty when we visited. The pub is dated and probably not what we expected. Service was very friendly though and we started with mushroom soup which was very good. Followed this with the steak pie and the creamy mushroom tagliatelle with chicken. The pie was just ok and clearly shop bought not homemade (doesn’t say homemade on the menu though), but pubs serving food in this day and age usually serve home m... View all feedback.
I went to this restaurant with a group of friends for a pre-Christmas dinner. The food was fantastic and the staff were very friendly.
I decided to come to this restaurant after having a bad experience at the meadows. The reception at the Premier Inn recommended this place to us and it was amazing. The food was fantastic, hot, fresh, and well presented. The menu was great too.
Very good food and well presented. Shame that only 1 real ale on tap but it was the first working day after a New Year Bank Holiday. Prices very reasonable and proportions excellent.
We’d had the restaurant recommended to us for Sunday lunch and have to say we were not disappointed. There is a nice homely feel to the pub and the staff were largely welcoming. We were offered drinks on arrival that came quickly but we did need to wait quite a while to order our food which was frustrating as we were rather hungry. We both ordered Sunday lunch with an extra portion of meat for £1 extra that I would definitely do again (Beef and Turkey if you’re interested! . The food was hot, well cooked and very tasty. We were offered condiments too which helped make it cranberry and horseradish!! We ordered a glass of wine after our meal which seemed relatively pricey given the location (large Malbec £7.50 but lesson learnt. Overall a good experience and we’ll certainly be back. On a separate note, it does seem quite difficult to book a table at short notice and we’ve seen people turned away even though there seems to be several free tables. Probably a reason for this but not sure what.
Lovely local pub. Great home cooked food with a varied menu to choose. We have visited here for all sorts of occasions and at different times in the year. The staff are accommodating and fantastic at handling large groups. Thanks for being a lovely, local pub
