We joined as temporary members while on holidays. The fisherman's basket was exemplary, The prawn linguini was also very good indeed. Over the two weeks we were in Batehaven, we ate at Catalina five times, and succumbed to the fisherman's platter only once. It was huge and delicious, and enough for two. While there's parts of the whole venue that are pretty good, the meal's we were served were really only just ok. The burger which shows on the specials menu is pretty basic and the meat patty quite dry. Bit overpriced for a 'special.' Pizzas seem ok but again are a bit steep in pricing as well.My own rule is that an average meal means I won't be back to eat there, but I'll certainly grab a beer if I'm passing through... read more.

"Don't be fooled by all those photos, that's what we looked at and was like yep let's go there. But when we got there the place was dead, you could hear the chefs and staff all in the back yelling talking. My partners food the seafood tasted like it was had been sitting in the freezer for years and the deep fryer oil was still dripping off the gross calamari that was served. The chips came out warm and not crispy. And then my salmon was only cooked on top but all inside was cold and uncooked and the skin was not crispy and watery.I told the chef and he was lovely enough to cook me another one. However when the next one came out it had no seasoning on it and was agin watery but tasted like he finished it in the microwave. And by that time I'd already finished my salad and chips were too cold to eat. The staff were lovely. But was just so disappointed by food. Wasted a good night there."
