"Stayed here for 1 night on our way to Austria. There was a group of 7 of us. We all enjoyed the hotel, evening meal, breakfast and the drinks. The staff were all really helpful and pleasant. The beds were very comfortable. If we are travelling this way again, we will definitely be looking to stay here again!"

"Excellent service: fast, friendly and very tasty meat! the atmosphere is secret, we were served extra supplements like bratkartoffeln directly from the pan without being extra charged what was super positiw! we also arrived without reservation, as we have just stopped driving, place was crowded, but we were offered a place anyway. excellent unpublished experience. recommended!"

"As the ski season had already ended, finding an open restaurant proved quite challenging! Luckily I discovered Restaurant Walser in Ulrichen, which is open all year round. We have all heard the saying "You never get a second chance to make a first impression’’. Unfortunately the waiter behaved extremely cold and unwelcoming. I got the distinct feeling that he was doing me a favour in serving me! On the opposite, the tenants appeared later during the dinner and were very friendly. The dining room feels cozy and pleasant, with loads of vintage photos of Ulrichen. The menu is Swiss traditional with strong focus on local produce and suppliers. As starter the Valais air dried meat tasted wonderful (however, I discovered that the waiter had served me the large portion, whereas I had ordered the small size!! . As main course I chose a typical Valais dish: ‘’Croûte au fromage’’ a slice of bread topped with grated cheese, cured ham, onions and fried egg. The whole is oven baked and served piping hot: quite revigorating but definitely not for the health conscious. As dessert I indulged myself with the house specialty ‘’Snowball’’ apricot sorbet, wrapped with vanilla ice and hazelnuts. Delicious portion! The bill reflected the usual Swiss price level. The food tasted actually very good, but the whole dining experience was definitely let down by the very unpleasant waiter. Please replace him asap!"

"After a long journey by train we just wanted to eat something. So we ordered some salad and a pizza. In no time we got our dishes. I have not eaten such a good pizza for many years! Normally I can not eat a whole pizza as it is to much pastry for me. But this time I ate it all."

"Extremely rude staff They hate tourists but their livelihood depends on it. First when we entered the restaurant they said the back is booked so we sat in front but when other people came in they were welcomed to the area so n the back where they said is booked. I asked why then they started mumbling and making up answers. They called it a stupid question that why their business is tourist based but they depend on tourist."

"We ate at the Eiger Guesthouse Restaurant twice during our 4 day visit to the Gimmelwald/Murren area, and both meals were really good. They serve a nice mix of Swiss traditional cuisine, as well as pizza, pastas and salads. For us, it was also excellent that they served meals later. We were very active during the evening, and were looking for dinners around 2100 hours, and Eiger Guesthouse was one of the few still serving. The beer and wine selections were nice, and the kids were happy with their meals. Thumbs up all around."

"Showed up quite late for dinner (late in to our hotel) and had to order off the abbreviated menu. I had a pork bratwurst (can't remember if they called it that or something else) and it was quite good. Service was good. Atmosphere was nice. Had a few drinks. Very convivial, a large crowd of folks celebrating in the corner. Overall, I enjoyed the meal. Would go back if I were back in Bettmeralp."
