"Staff and setting were awesome. However the breakfast was small and pricey. The menu is pretty limited and mostly trendy food items. We spent about $60 for two folks and left hungry. Not many gluten free items, either. The coffee is not good. The barista did her best, but the beans are not great. This place is better suited for people that take instagram pics next to old trucks and drink sugary coffee drinks. Service: Dine in"

"Big Sur River Inn is absolutely enchanting. The best part is the cute chairs right by the river, where you can take your food and book and enjoy the food while you drink some coffee even have a cocktail. "It was pretty busy and it was the last game of the Dodgers Giants series in the bar but even so the service was good. And the food was phenomenal. The Worm had a pulled pork sandwich and I had a fish wrap, and they were very good, yet the french fry nachos were by far one of the best things I've ever had we both felt that way. The fries were flat and somehow puffy and were perfect for scooping up all the tasty things that came with it, the pink onions being the most memorable. Outstanding!"

"With a name like Nepenthe (neh pen it, which means a Greek word house without worries it is easy to see why the name fits here. There seems to be some companies here, so let me explain how it seems to work: Nepenthe is the restaurant in the upper area. Due to the price point we did not eat here and simply went to a level we felt was less crowded, more open views anyway. I saw a full coffee/wine bar and maybe a limited menu. Did not have much interaction with the host, but she did not seem very friendly/happy. People seemed to wait awhile and stick in the corners without so many views, but it meant to appear as an upscale restaurant. It's not, it just has the view. Cafe Kevah is the middle café with view If I could get married everywhere, I would choose this balcony corner. Maybe renewal of the vows. Our whole family LOVES this place and will now be one of every time stop for us."

"My family and I had the best experience with Big Sur Smokehouse! We were staying at Ventana campgrounds and needed mac cheese and milk for our daughter. They always gave us large portions and hooked us up! The staff were so friendly and understanding of our baby’s need. The food was delicious as well!"

"Cozy yet modern restaurant in the woods. Beautiful views on back patio with outdoor fire pits and space heaters. Pulled Pork and Veggie Burgers were delicious. Smoked Salmon plate was a nice appetizer. Reasonably priced for the area."
