"We hadn't been to Hayward's for years, actually forgot about it. So decided to pay a visit. Had the lunchtime surprise 4 course meal. The food was beyond expectations, each course was sublime don't want spoil the surprise by revealing the actual courses), balanced, well presented and delicious and good value for money. The service was attentive. The wine, had a bottle of Torrontés which was excellent. This restaurant is miles better than some of the well known expensive names in London. Will definitely revisit."

"Visited with my family today and couldn’t help but feel uncomfortable by two staff members who couldn’t keep their hands off each other behind the counter. Not normally bothered by public displays of affection however these two where unprofessionally hanging off each other. Can’t knock the food and drink, atmosphere great too! Just felt a bit awkward"

"Passed through on my walk of the Essex Way in the May day bank holiday weekend. The previous 2 pubs I had tried were closed and I was hankering for an evening meal and a rest so I came to the Windmill not realising how fancy it was! Despite that and my less than ideal attire, the waitress was as an an angel to a weary traveller and found me a seat. After a bread basket with a deliciously salty spread, a cauliflower risotto and of course a chilly pint, a man on the edge walked another few miles or so into the night and slept happily in the woods with a smile on his face. I will have to return one day the classiness of the place mixed with its quaint but very highly refined pub vibe is exquisitely peaceful and the food is like dining on dreams. Only giving it 5 stars because 1000 isn't an option."

"Edinburgh Quays Edinburgh. We had a lovely meal, although we'd booked there wasn't a table for us downstairs when we arrived so we had to sit on our own upstairs, not quite as nice but we were promised personal service from, I presumed, the manager himself and offered a free glass of wine! The Toptable menu was very good value at £13.95 for three courses, good choice. The manager/waiter was most charming and helpful."
