Not going to lie, the food wasn 't all that great at all, maybe just an off evening . It was average at best, steak was very fatty, chips very greasy. Service was OK but not great, atmosphere was spoilt by literally being sat ontop of 2 other tables. It felt like everything we said was a conversation with 2 other couples who we didn 't know. "There were just a handful of diners for our lunch time meal at the Clockspire which has a large open dining room. The cavernous space was cold and lacked atmosphere, exacerbated by so few fellow travellers. Staff were attentive without being intrusive. The kitchen offers fine dining and yet most of our dishes were over seasoned with salt very prominent. Portions were tiny and relatively expensive, as were wines.
