"Update 4/17/22: Good food. Appropriate prices. Friendly service. Not overcrowded. My husband that I inaugurated with my aunt Uncle yesterday. An employee came to our table asking if we were to wait for food. I explained we had no order yet, that was our first time in Essen. She explained the process politely. You could say we could order at the counter where a sign indicates that drinks are called by name, but food would be brought to the table. She warned us that the team is busy, it could order a short waiting period. We ordered her to bring us our drinks. My uncle had a black coffee he seemed to enjoy. My husband I shared with a Cremosa is an Italian soda with cream. We chose passion fruit on their recommendation it was creamy and not excessively sweet, but well flavored. Ruben was a little spicier than expected, but well flavored. The turkey Pesto was delicious as the Spinach Walnut Salad, who had strawberries and creamy goat cheese. We shared a basket of truffles and that was hot and savory. We tried the Bourbon bananas care and a chocolate cake slice and they were both sweet and tasty. I have another Mixed Matcha Mango drink to go and it was just as good as last time. We'll be back. Original 4 Star Review: I had only ordered online before this visit The place is bigger than expected. There was a person in front of me to order. When I was there, they said they were a minute I said it was good. I waited more than 5 minutes before they took my order, but they were polite and the galle that worked the register let me know that she was right with me. I didn't feel ignored, but it took longer than I wanted to order a drink. That said, this is basically a complete restaurant, not just a coffee shop. They have breakfast, lunch and dinner on their menu including alcohol and desserts. The Door Dash menu is small compared to the menu in the house. This is not a complaint that it only records if someone only knows it from online orders. I ordered a mixed matcha drink and added Mango after asking the staff for a recommendation which flavor I could add. The drink was delicious. I shared it with my husband and he loved it too. It was like a mango smoothie and it was creamy, cold and delicious. I would definitely drink again. We have to try the food again."

"We love going to Tanuki. We have eaten there several times. Service is always friendly. We especially enjoy the sushi rolls (although we do wish we could order sushi to go). They have delicious food and the Las Vegas roll is my favorite. The miso soup is always comforting and delicious as well. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch"

"Very very very good food!!!!! We eat there once a week. Coming originally from California 13 years ago we finally found a great pho noodle place. Highly recommend this place you will not be disappointed. Good portions."

"Incredibly greasy. 1 small piece of sausage is placed on the top of pfeffersalat, so it falls off. I think it's done to make sure that a customer doesn't get too much. 10 years ago this place was easy 4 stars. the pizzas of the chain are now much better"

"I was having a bad day and honestly short tempered. Plus I volunteered to pick up dinner. Kaylee helped me out by going the extra mile .... to place a Togo order. Very thoughtful and I appreciate her and her customer service. Two thumbs up and all of the above. Note: WORST pick up system ever. Call once you get there?? How many prompts do you have to sit through and listen to?? Management may want to rethink."
