Breaks the mold slightly from your average Mexican strip-mall restaurant. Unique dishes or preparations you don't generally see. I recommend any of the Ixtapa specials because of the flavorful and unique tomatillo sauce. Skip the tortilla chips. They were oily and poorly cooked. View all feedback.

Stale chips, subpar food, in a sketchy area. First time ever seeing carrots string beans in mexican rice. Also the microwave in the seating area does not help the already dull atmosphere.. View all feedback.
Ixtapa has a great local feel. The pork we had was amazing. The server/service knowledgeable, prompt, efficient all the way thru the meal. Would highly recommend. Prices are very reasonable and the portions generous.

We have loved Ixtapa for 16 years! They never disappoint.
Great little place with with great service. I will definitely be a repeat customer. I finally found a place in the Kansas City area that has spicy Mexican food that I love. Yes you can ask for spicy salsa it is fantastic. Don't pass them up!
Very friendly staff and owners. EXCELLENT food the tamales are a meal by themselves. Probably the best food in the area
