"If you like German food, do not come here. The only thing halfway decent was the bread. The sauerbraten was awful. Some nasty gray meat covered in a gravy that vaguely resembled sauerbraten flavor. The meat was very tough and tasteless and definitely never touched any marinade which is required of actual sauerbraten. My husband's schnitzel was barely passable and full of gristle and fat. The spaetzle was boiled and tasteless. The decor was nice, but service is awful from cold, borderline rude, women in costume. We definitely won't be back."

"I hardly rate small Italian eateries 5 stars because most of them use a lot of canned ingredients. Not Giuseppe's. Each and every dish we had was fresh, and made with minimal and simple ingredients. The Marinara and their super delicious Balsamic dressing are made in house. I never knew that a simple Tomato Mozarella salad can be so refreshing and delicious! They use the Marinara on the Pizzas and also as a side serving with fries excellent replacement to ketchup! The Penne a la Vodka was super fresh and the bread was baked on premises, it came hot! The staff is super friendly and explain each dish in detail cannot appreciate them enough! Do note the Pizza we order is a medium and it matches a large from any of the chain pizza restaurants. The dough was fresh and the food was awesome! This is Italian food done right exactly the way it should be fresh, simple, minimal and delicious!"

"I kept my wedding here. The place is beautiful and includes many accommodation. The food was delicious. The staff is also friendly. Unfortunately, my wedding didn't go as well as I expected because I got an email 2 days before my big event in which I was told that the wedding coordinator couldn't make it my wedding because she got Covid. These things happen naturally. I was really worried about my big day after this news, but she assured me I was in good hands. Unfortunately, that was not quite the case. The day before my wedding, when my family and I arrived, there was a lot of confusion about which rooms my family would stay, even though they were reserved a bit before the wedding. On the day of the wedding, the employees who now coordinate my wedding were very disorganized and not aware that all that was that on the day unfortunately due to lack of communication with the wedding coordinator and because leadership was lacking. My middle pieces never made it to the guest tables, the entrance tables or the wedding couple tables. Two dozen rose petals were bought to be blown over the tables that have not happened and they have never left the fridge. The flowers were one of the most important and expensive aspects of my wedding for me and I stressed this to the coordinator so that I am upset about it is understandable. A refund for all flowers has not been offered, they simply delivered them to my honeymoon area the next day with an apology. I do not leave this informative review to place any negativity on Friends Lake Inn. There were many beautiful weddings here, but unfortunately, mine didn't go as planned. Unfortunately, the young lady who was placed responsible for coordinating the wedding on the wedding day was nowhere to find until about half an hour before the event, so my husband had to run around like a chicken with his head lacking trying to tell people where to go and what to do until the bride was ready. That wasn't my husband's responsibility. I informed Friends Lake Inn about why I was upset about my wedding, and I talked to the owner and he offered me a free night to stay at Friends Lake Inn and asked me to make me happy? It was a very nice offer and I took it because it was again a nice place to stay and very accommodating. Unfortunately, it does not remove the past. I sincerely hope that this will not happen to any other couple, which is another reason why I decided to publish this review. The owner asked me to leave a good review after he offered me a free night stay at the Inn and I believe that a true review is exactly that. Remember, we're still in the middle of a pandemic. If you plan a wedding, you are always very careful at the venue(s) you choose, especially during the pandemic."

"To start off there was no fine dining ambience, lights were up full blast. Food was wildly underwhelming (lacked flavor and creativity), small portions and over priced. Service was fine though. Definitely have no intention of going back or recommending to others."
