The restaurant is second floor from street level. I absolutely loved the seafood stew.it was amazing. Both French white wine glasses were great. My only tiny criticism is they were too cold; wine too cold hides the flavor and aromas. I live 3.5 hours away and would come back for this stew. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner View all feedback.
What Fred Putnam, Jr doesn't like about Cafe Provence:
Menu hasn't changed in years. Service is good some days and on others we may have to wait an hour or more to be served and we had reservations. Wait staff sometimes not so welcoming or friendly. Parking: Parking is usually readily available unless it's busy in town. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner View all feedback.
The food is delicious, we loved it so much we went here two nights in a row, they have a good selection of wine and beer and the staff are very friendly! I recommend the seafood stew, that's something special!
The food was pretty good. I had flat iron steak with potatoes and it was really good. I really liked the sauce. Cali Mari was also good. The seafood stew was also very good, many seafood in it and the presentation was beautiful. We got the duck, but the sweetness of blueberries and oranges was a little strange and didn't go well.
Cafe Provence was a nice experience. The waiting staff was very accommodating and allowed us to move when the mosquitoes decided that I was the best on the menu! The ambience was casual and the waitress was attentive. The salads, soup and pasta appetizers were delicious. My friend's fish court was very good. My hanger Steak was very over cooked, but was replaced by the waitress and the kitchen staff came by to apologize and to write the mistakes to new employees who were trained. I would recommend marinating the hanger steak to get a little more taste in it (it was a bit bland and then cut it over the grain to display on the plate after cooking (big way to check correct skill and adds to the presentation. Dessert was a wonderful flight of sweet treats... I wish the Ricotta Cavetelli was a dinner not only an appetizer :
Chef and owner is very talented and prize winner French Chef. Its ingredients are fresh and eat buttery delish. Last time we had Brunch and Ei Benedict was a good special. I had the spinach and my husband had the lobster. It was very fluffy and light. My mother in the law loved the flourless chocolate cake.
A true hidden gem. The food is delicious, and the prices are very reasonable. We went for lunch. I had the salmon, and my husband had seafood stew and a lovely squash soup. All of it was superb. Gourmet Provence is well worth a drive to Brandon. Highly recommend.
