"Reading good reviews about breakfast I was looking forward to a treat. Boy, was I disappointed. Prices seem to have increased so looking at £11.50 for a full English from £9.50. Unfortunately standards have sunk as the prices have escalated. My wife had the mushrooms on toast as the only healthy breakfast available but the toast had been badly burnt on one side and the charcoal side turned face down to hide it with a measly spread of a mushroom sauce on top, not nice. The full English was little better with blond undercooked sausages, cheap ingredients, a stone cold ramekin of beans and toast without butter. Accompanied by two capuccinos that that tasted like warm milk with a chocolate sprinkle. Mentioned all this to the eldest lady behind the counter who looked in charge and received the usual look of horror when an English person has the temerity to complain. She blamed the Saturday girls who were training apparently. Final fob off was that next time we come back we should mention our complaint for a possible discount. She refused to give her name when I said this was an unnaceptable response this is the true mark of the guilty. Shall not be going back ever again to test the discounted bad food offer as we both know readers, don't we? That this promise would be broken anyway."

"Went here last night with family. What a find! Tucked away in a quiet street behind the market place is a really great Thai restaurant. Food was very authentic and the service excellent. The chef came out at the end to thank us for coming."

"Quirky, homely and warm little pub/restaurant. Just love the decor with the old gas lamps, low ceilings and big wooden beams. Food was gorgeous, large portions and very good value for money. Staff were friendly and good fun, knew how to have a laugh which was good when there was 5 lads in there for a meal. Would definitely return again if in the area."

"This welcoming Cafe/restaurant is situated near the church in the village of Mattishall some 5 miles from Dereham. This was my first visit and both my wife and I were impressed with the range of food available on the menus. We opted for a sandwich the perceived lighter lunch option !! The sandwich was packed with filling and served with either chips or crisps and was accompanied by a salad with a tasty dressing and a mouth watering slice of watermelon. one of my grandchildren had the special Rump steak meal how on earth did he get through it all !!! His dad had the home made burger and was beaten! This has to be the best eatery in the area including Dereham sensibly priced huge portions and a delightful outside area to eat under great modern parasols. We will return and have no hesitation in recommending Tabnabs to friends and family"
