"Good wine list, good menu. Everything locally sourced and fresh. The menu was delicious and there was choice for vege's too. One of our party has to be very careful of gluten and they were completely accommodating. It was all very well presented, beautifully cooked and tasty. I would happily return here to see what is on the menu as it changes depending on availability of produce."

"This is a good place to go for a long lunch or dinner, particularly if staying at the Mercure, which is just up the hill. A real fire helps the restaurant feel cosy and informal, and the staff are friendly. The food comes in good...portions, and the 10 hour beef is absolutely delicious. Meals are beautifully presented. We had fish pate which was divine, and a sort of superior shepherds pie with shredded beef and a potato topping. The rillets of fish were a tiny bit strange as they were very cold, but the food is generally really tasty. Desserts were huge pieces of chocolate cake with creme anglais or tarte tartine both very nice."
