Dine with caution if require gluten-free menu. Otherwise, food was average. Not many diners were in restaurant for dinner which makes its own statement. Unsure if chef truly understood gluten-free menu requirements. Not a good outcome. Blueberry beet salad not my favorite, but reviews from other diners indicate a popular item. "We came in to eat at Fitzgerald's Restaurant on July 1st after the ferry ride from Newfoundland. We checked in at the motel next door where the clerk told us it would be okay for us to go to the restaurant at 6:45 p.m. even though they closed at 7:00. We were leery of going in at that time, but we were tired and hungry. The two servers who were working were so cordial and assured us that it was not a problem for us to be there just before closing. I had the fish and chips and I honestly can't remember what my husband ate. I do know that we both enjoyed our food and conversation with our server. The owner even asked us about our experience as we were leaving to go to the motel. Thank you for your friendliness and good food for two weary travelers!"

"Have a gift certificate for a 2 night Jurten stay, and that was the speed bound to the retreat. My husband had the salmon and it was great. I had the steak and it was fantastic, perfect. Dessert, great too. A part of the...deal was that a breakfast 'buffet ... it started at 6:30, we came at 6:45 and it had already gone over half, despite written requests, to take only a few of several items. The coffee was made in a urn and I took a sip from my husband 's and knew it wasn't all I would like. I like my coffee to taste like coffee, unused coffee facilities wastewater. There was no attempt to fill up the buffet, and for a breakfast buffet like me I was very disappointed.. The rest of our stay was great."
